Hi everybody....

I just buy a Lk402-12...to be a remote for winamp on my home theater
I brought 100ft of 4 conductor + 1gnd/foild shield...total 5 wires
three will be used for data and 2 for power...
The question is: would it be preferable to use the ground for power ground or for data ground...
which one provide the better shielding....
I will run the lcd at about 9600bps

Hello....

Communicating at 9600 baud and the type of shielded cable you are using, this should work perfect for your application. What I would suggest doing is run your power/communication through the DB9 connector, since you are using a single cable. In the manual, under section 2.1.2 it explains how to do this: http://www.matrixorbital.com/manuals/lk40212/index.htm You will need 2 wires for communication (Rx, Tx) and one wire for power and ground.

I can't use the DB9 to power my LCD...
I brought the Wide Voltage version because my power supply output at
5.28v just above the nominal rating of 4.75-5.25....
So it will run on the 12V line....Like my LCD2041-WB-V

So I will use the gnd/foil for 12v gnd.....
Is it correct?

Yes, that would work just fine....
