MX212 USB no longer working, displays junk chars.

Hi,

I have just bought an MX212 USB and it is displaying random chars.
I had it working for about 2-3 hours (not winamp spectrum though) and
loved it but then I played around with the configuration and I just get
junk chars. I am using LCDC but I also have tried other programs with the same result. When I send a message the screen updates but not with anything sensible. I have tried reinstalling the hardware, drivers, LCDC, with no success. Is there anyway to reinstall factory settings?? I am guessing the screen has some type of non-volitile memory, can it be cleared?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Brett

Hello...

In section 1.7 of your manual, it describes how to perform a manual override. Try this and let me know how you make out!

Hi Miles,

Can't find the "display tuner" in the downloads section and I can't access it on my CD as all of the software on the CD is corrupt.

Thanks,
Brett

Oh and how do I turn off the display as described in 1.7?
Do I just unplug it from the USB port??

Thanks,
Brett

Yes you will have to power it down by unplugging the USB cable. Try this link for the display tuner: http://www.matrixorbital.com/download/displaytuner.exe

Okay got it out of the box again after putting it away in disgust.

read through the instructions again and tried resetting the baud rate,
still didn't work. Read instructions again for the hundreth time, oh crap, I was jumpering the GPO pin 6-7 and not the keyboard. I new which one the keyboard was but my brain kept locking into the 6 on the GPO's.

Stupid brain, I'm going to stab you with a q-tip

Anyways got it to work, its easy when you do it the right way, suprised I
didn't fry the whole thing.

Thanks for the help Miles. :D
