Im the new guy. Hello! Question inside.

I am just starting to use this product. Great so far.
Couple questions...
1. Is it normal while the lcd is scrolling to look like its flashing? It seems like it makes it kinda ugly when you scroll information as it looks like it has to light up the next set of characters as it scrolls.
2. Say I want to stop the display or better yet when I start a game and just want it to run FRAPS instead of scrolling can I do that? Better yet, have it so when I start up like Battlefield it only shows a few screens like CPU Usage, Temps, and FRAPS, it just scrolls through those ones only, until I exit out of the game then it goes back to normal.
