LED's died on me

i have an LK202-24-USB and the leds just randomly stopped working, the thing was perfectly functional sitting there one second, i look back and the led's are at like 1% of their origonal power, i dont know what happened, it wasnt in a mod of any sort, just sitting out in the open and blammo... i just bought this lcd and i was planning a really nice mod, but i cant drop another 70+ bucks on another one. anyone know what could be wrong, i am able to repair surface mount boards.

You sure you just didn't adjust the backlight intensity down a lot?

yeah, i reset the brighness to 50 then 0 then back up to 100, no change at all, each time making sure that the setting was being sent to the lcd, i restarted my comp a few times, still nothing.

so you cantalk to the display, (ex. turning on anf off the backlight works?), but the LEDs are really dim.... and if you turn brightness to 100% using display tuner nothing happens?
