LCD Tester Problems :(

OK once again I try the new version of LCD Tester and I got the same error and problem that I did before...
Any ideas why?

The problem has to do with the database file. When the database file was created LK202-24 USB was of type 0x02, however due to some updates in the firmware the type has been changed to 0x36.
To fix this problem follow these steps:

1. Run LCD Tester
2. Select File -> Manage LCD Database
3. Select LK202-24-USB from the Name dropdown box
4. Click on Edit LCD
5. Change Type from 0x2 to 0x36 (That is number zero and lower case 'x' for Hexadecimal number.)
6. Click on Update LCD
7. You should get an update confirmation. Click OK.
8. Click Close and you are done.

I will update the database file so that new downloads will not have to follow these steps to connect to the new versions of LK202-24-USB.

Yea if you only new! it was like 1:00AM when I did that I was doing number by number but I got to desperate! I wanted to go to bed!

OK Jhonny!
Update dun and I connect with no problem!

But when I am dun with LCD Tester and exit I still see funny charcters and jumping bars when I start LCDC only way I can get rid of them is if I power the computer down and unplug the LCD out of the USB plug.
Any ideas?

Good to hear you can connect to your USB display now. So from what I understand, when you are exiting from LCD Tester the connection seems to stay open and there is garbage being sent to the display. Is this correct? If so, would you mind checking whether the Java Virtual Machine process is still running after exiting LCD Tester.
To do this exit LCD Tester, right-click Task Bar and select Task Manager... . Select the Processes tab and check whether there is a process called "javaw.exe". If the process is still running after you exit LCD Tester, then there might be a problem. In the mean time however you may right-click on "javaw.exe" and select End Process to force connection closed.
Unfortunately, I haven't encountered this problem during testing yet. If you still see this problem happening, could you tell me what version of Java you are using and any other information you think may be causing this behaviour?

Yes is all garabge. I whent to the task manager under process and I didnt see java been running after I use LCD Tester.

I use 1.4.2_01

Any ideas?

Are you by chance running LCDC and LCD Tester at the same time...? By this I mean, do you completely exit LCDC before you open the other test software?

Unfortunately I was unable to duplicate the behaviour mentioned above. I connected to an LK202-24-USB Ver. 1.0 using LCD Tester. Executed some commands, run demos, etc and then exited LCD Tester. Everything was fine. Then I started LCDC and again no problems. I also attempted to connect to the display while LCDC was running, but it won't let me because LCDC is using the port. Any other suggestions on what I could do to duplicate the problem? Perhaps you have an old version of LCD Tester. Did you download it from the 'Software' forum?

Yeap, I'm using the same JRE as you.

Do you mind re-downloading LCD Installer and re-installing it? Hopefully this will fix the problem. Sorry, I know this is the worst measure possible but I am really out of ideas.
