The MX Series has 6 GPO's...You have the option to make all GPO's low powered, however you must be advised only three have current limiting resistors (5V @ 20mA). From default settings you have 3 GPO's that you can use independently and three that you would need to add a current limiting resistor to. If you have any further questions, feel free to post.

Ok I am using the high power GPOs at the mo so only need to use the low power ones.
Could anyone show me on a diagram where the low power GPOs are located. I see the keypad input pins and the fan headers and white plugs which i presume are for temp probes?
the only other pins are a set of five pairs of pins next to the power input.
Are these the low power outputs
thanks for the help

Please see the following link for a pinout diagram...
http://www.lcdforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1421
On the PCB it will be labelled "4" to the left of the connector...The 3 low powered GPO's are 4, 5 and 6...

Pin 7 is a "no connect" and pin 8 is 5 Volt power output...

Ah cool.
So could i just use pin 8 to power a single LED that will be on the whole time?

No...
Pin 8 does not have a current limiting resistor and will damage you LED in a hurry!!
