OK total newbie question..

Post by JonC »

I just purchased my VFD.. I have it installed and I am learning the ropes with LCDC.. ( pic at end of post )

Here is my question..

I am building another system.. and after reading about the various displays.. I am left wondering exactly what the differences are..

I read somewhere that the new LCD's have some features "built in"..

What are these "built in" functions..?

Please explain the differences of what can be done with them..

Sine picture, make sure you post in the gallery! As for the features... well, The VFD2041 has one GPO and a serial interface, the VK204-25 has 6 GPOs and the ability to have a keypad attached to it. This gives you the avility to interact with your system by the display. Like moving forward and back the screens, volume up and down, slecting songs or play lists to play and on and on and on. Some of the new units like the MX2 kit and upcoming MX3 kit have Fan headers that control the speed of the fans and RPM sensing and are USB interface. As well, the can use the Indicator LED bus and temperature probes.

See review:

SO it's all a matter of figuring out what features you want and will use.
