Besides LCDC, how can I use a remote to control an LCD?

Post by fryguy »

Still not 100% sure if I want to get a MO LCD or not, so I'm looking for options on how to control the display with a remote, besides LCDC. I'd prefer to save some money and just do a parallel port since I don't plan on using any of the extra things that a serial can do. So how can I control a parallel LCD with a remote?

::too bad MO doesn't make a 20x4 kit with keypad.

they make 20x4 with keypad, but you must build your own keypad....

Yah I think this is what I'm going to do, since a keypad can simply be a bunch of momentary switches connected to the keypad inputs. I found a nice guide to doing it online, so this is probably the best solution for me.
