Which one to get???

Post by koos34 »

I have 3 5.25 bays on the front of my system and they are all occupied. I want a MO screen though. One of them is occupied with a 4-port dual voltage baybus, and I was wondering if there are any MO screens that will fit in a 5.25 bay and can control 4 fans? Thanks

Why don't you buy any MO 2x20 in a 5x25" bay insert, drill some holes in it and fit both the lcd and the baybus into the same bay? Best of both worlds :)

because the baybus circuity takes up the whole inside of the drive bay, so it wouldnt fit

Well to use an LCD as a baybus you need high power GPO's, and to get an MO LCD to fit in a single 5.25" bay (and the circuit board not overlap) you need to use a 2x20 display or smaller... so that only leaves you with the 2x20 USB and its three high power GPO's.

Now the problem is you're limited to three channels and the starting state of the GPO's being off, which aint good for a baybus! Building one of these - http://www.bit-tech.net/article/96/ would solve the problem (converts normal GPO's to high power and makes them start on) but if you bought a premade baybus I'm guessing you're not up to making it :(
