Henry: USB Connector/Accessory for the New LCD Displays

Post by Escape »

For the Displays with the new USB Interface:

Will there be a USB cable (Accessory) that one end attaches to the back of the LCD Display and the other end connected to a PCI bracket with a USB Female connector on it. You would then connect a small USB cable from that PCI bracket to the actual USB connector on the back of the case. This would allow for a clean installation and you would not have to cut a hole in the back of the case to allow the USB cable to connect to the USB connector which is outside on the back of the case. A competitor has something very similar in a Serial version (WR232Y09) which makes for a very neat a clean installation.

You can just mod a USB Cable so that it connects to an internal motherboard USB Header

Much better idea ;)

The "competitor" copied that idea from us  . We have had it for almost two years. Curently, the USB cable just has to get fed through an empy slot, but we will be getting a cover with a cut in it so the removed PCI bracket get's replaced.

Henry, thanks for the reply:

Sorry for the confusion. I looked under your accessories section and did not see it. On the other site it was exactly what I was looking for, but not in the USB version.

So you say you will have it in a USB version that connects to the inside of the bracket and another short cable that connects to the other side of the bracket and then goes to the USB connector on the back of the case.

Also the most important question. When will the (MX) USB Displays with the external temperature sensors (DS-18b20) be available. What colors will they be available in. I like the blue/white and also the black/yellow is very cool.

Thanks,

Scott

The cable will just be passed through, something like this

Except for just one.

Well, if all goes well, in the next month or so... don't hold me to that, but it will be done ASAP...
What colors will they be available in

Hi Henry

What is the ETA on the USB Displays with the external temperature sensors

How is this for a modded USB cable and bracket to use with the new USB displays when you get them.
