Now I can see on the A model that there is some kind of back panel in the pci slots with a serial connector between it and the serial port , that I understand. But the cables in the picture that go to the display and bay insert are not terminated by a serial connector and therefore I assume are not able to be hooked up to my LK202-25 that I already have ?
Henry are they different when you buy the lcd and bay insert together in which case I need to get the cheaper cable option . Also what length of cable is this ?
Its all bit tech and macros fault I've seen that I can make the bay insert look aluminium
Cheers
Yeah only the 4BR cable comes with a slot cover on so you can use a little serial cable to wrap around fro the slot to the serial port to have a nice neat life.
You have 2 options is you didn't buy the 4BR version of your display and want this neatness, you can make a hole in a spare slot cover yourself - easy dremel work, then get two normal male-femal serial cables... or you can buy a 4BR cable and nick the slot cover off it.
You could always ask uncle cheese for a spare, I've taken soo many 4BR cables apart now I'm sure I had two or three slot covers lying around with serial port holes in them.
Thanks cheese , sounds like a serial cable is a more sensible idea for me . I've got a hole for the serial cable already so thats not a problem . (Well usb )

I don't want to get the 4BR models since their faceplates have keypads on them. So can you please further explain these options?
Yes, I understand that part. However, I was trying to get more details on these "work around" solutions so that you can use a PCI plate without having a 4BR kit.
More specifically I was wondering how one would go about doing what Cheese suggested. Perhaps an online how-to guide or something?
