I am not sure of the case I plan to order, but I can say it will have 4 5.25 bays(1 for a cdrw, 1 for a dvdrw, one for a baybus). There will be one bay open for my display if I want to take that path. Now, I was looking at the BLK202A-4BR 2x20 LCD w/ Keypad on VH. I really like the idea of the of the key pad, but I think the 2x20 is too small for me. I guess my questions would be:
1. What is the largest display I can mount on a 5.25 bay?

2. It looks like a 4x20 could fit without the keypad. Is it a big deal to get another keypad and mount it somewhere else(like the side of the case)? If so what keypad would you recommend?

3. I really like the GPO stuff and want to use them for my lights and what not. If what I am reading is right the VFD displays do not have any GPO connections?

4. After all of my BS rant what would you say my best options are with my limited space and wants? Or, is it all a pipe dream?

Sorry about the long winded post.

1. We will be making keypads for the 4x20 displays very soon... we are just waiting for the first test run and then production so 2 months +/-, the bigest you can get into a single 5.25" drive bay is a 2x20, 4x20 if you use space above and bellow it, so close to 3 bays... there is a few pics in the gallery showing this done.

2. Sure, see Cyphers mod

3. The VK204-25 and LK204-25 have 6 GPOs each, the LCD/VFD2041 have 1 and the LK204-25-PC has 8 HIGH POWER ones

4. everything is possible

Ok, so it look like I will grab 1 LK204-25PC for $81.60 and figure somewhere to mount it on the case I get. All i need to know now is what I have to buy in order to get this running. I did not see anything about it including power or serial cables on the more info page. Does it include all of this or will I need to order them as well?

you can use a standard 3.5" floppy power cable on the LK204-25-PC... you will need a serial cable too... if you are mounting it your self, look at the MK2041, which includes screws, overlay and stuff to help you get it just right.
