OK Henry, here is the deal... LCD works perfectly, and I got LCDC setup (pretty easy); BTW the new beta works real well, especially with WinAMP to display graph eq and it also adds a custom weather display option... real sweet.

Now everything seems to work ok but I can't get the change.exe to work. I'm stuck with the Matrix Orbital intro screen (I know I shouldn't be complaining) but I was wondering what I'm doing wrong and if this app is supposed to work with my LCD (I selected the proper COM, baud and hit online then tried to update the intro screen and shutdown the computer; at restart nothing happened). If not is there an alternative solution?
Also I was wondering if it is possible to setup LCDC to autoshutoff the backlight after a preset inactivity time (without having to lauch the app and send the command).

Do you guys think that it'd be possible to setup a section so that people can upload their config files for LCDC or other (with a little description). That way people would have some cool features and might learn faster how to setup their LCD... just thought the example config file was a little light...

Thanks in advance,

Sam

Hi Samw5

1)Thanks for the comments on LCDC :smile:

2)When you do a restart are you physically powering down? on just s soft/hard reboot. The initial screen will only display on power up (e.g pull power to screen and plug back in to test)?

3)If LCDC is not running then it can't do that. However when you shutdown LCDC you can uses a "SYS->On Finish" command to send a "DPS->Backlighton60mins" or something that will turn the backlight off after 60 mins (even if it's in use or whatever)

4)I may well do that later if it's not done here...

Henry;

My LCDC looks all set; it as a custom shutdown message that shows up when the system is shut down and it looks like it's working. I'm gonna try adding a Sys>On Start entry to dim the backlight to see if this works.

Now when the computer is first started (i.e from no power) I always have the Maxtrix Orbital LCD info. I tried running the change.exe file but it doesn't seem to work.
Any chances I could change that as well.

Thanks again,

Sam
