EVE3-43A TFT not getting powerON

Post by ashishgarag »

Hi,
I am not able to Read REG_ID after the initial code setup of EVE3.
I have MCU(MSP430F66xx) SPI interface with EVE3 TFT @ 1MHz,master mode,3-wire SPI ,CKPH=CKPL=0, MSB first, AYSYNC enable, this is SPI setting used in MCU.
EVE3 Initialization code followed as per data sheet , all cmd are transmitted but whem iam trying to read RED_ID the TFT is not giving the response.
What could be the reason, if any one can share the experience.

Hello,

Thank you for posting on the forum.

There were suggestions sent out via email, hope those had helped.
I will follow up with you and will post here what the resolution was.

Best Regards,

Hi,

The issue has not yet resolved,

I received 0x7C (REG_ID) on DSO but not able to read 0x7C in MSP430 because the amplitude of MISO line is less than 2V and due to which controller is not able to read REG_ID. We check all the connection wrt datasheet and EVE3-TFT manual everything is fine but still MISO line voltage is around 1.9V.
We checked MOSI,CS and CLK line on DSO all voltage level are 3.3V. (plz refer trailing mail screen shot of SPI communication it is clearly visible that MISO amplitude is 1.9V-Blue color channel)
Why MISO amplitude has dropped?

Hello Ashish,

I wonder if you please send me a block diagram of your connections: DSO vs MSP430?
You might need to consult the datasheet of the MSP430 regarding running SPI.

As you also contact via direct email (support), let us please continue the troubleshooting there and post here when we have it resolved.

Thank you,

Glad to hear Ashish, that you figured out the solution.

"Issue is resolved i not initialise MISO pin for SPI, due to this MCU was treating it as normal GPIO pin.
After proper initialization voltage at MISO pin is 3.3V as expected."
