Hi,
I am new to LCD's being used with computers to display data. If i had a program like LCDC and wanted to be able to use back forward stop and play, and a power button (5 buttons total) near the display to control it instead of a keypad. I was wondering if that is possible. I was looking to get a 20x4 MO backlit LCD display.
Thanks
Using buttons instead of a keyboard?
this what i did in my project :

I have made an external remote which uses 8 switches. I have a simple diagram that explain how to connect switches in rows and columns. See http://mysite.freeserve.com/winamp_remote/switch.htm

babber: THANK YOU so much for the link to your website explaining the button wire diagram. I'm new to LCDs and have been racking my brain trying to understand the buttons actually work. I've seen several desciptions and diagrams but none of them made sense until I looked at yours. I feel like a "born again". :-)
Thanks dude!
