Is there someway that I can modify my LK204-7T-1U-TCI-LV displays so that they will operate on 5V? If so, what is the procedure?
Thanks!
how to make a LK204-7T-1U-TCI-LV operate on 5V
Re: how to make a LK204-7T-1U-TCI-LV operate on 5V
Hi Octimax,
The standard (5V) version of the LK204-7T-1U contains a protection diode, filtering capacitors, and regulator that reduces the input voltage to the 3.3V operating voltage of the display. To add these parts you will void warranty, andmust have a hot air station in addition to a regular soldering iron.
I would recommend creating your own regulation circuit rather than modifying the display due to these warranty and tool concerns. If you must make changes to the board, don't mind voiding your warranty, and have the proper tools, please send me a PM and I can provide additional details.
Thanks,
Troy
