Hi aronmartin,

Thanks for posting on the forum.

To connect an LED, wire the anode of the LED to the + terminal of the GPO, then connect the cathode to the - terminal of the GPO. Unless you have changed the board, it should still have the 240 ohm limitting resistor which should work with the LED.

Please let me know how it turns out.

Yep works, now I need to decided what I'm gonna assign to it.

Thanks!

I just tried this and it works great I have a common 3~3.3v leds. I was jsut wondering what is the voltage to the leds. is the gpo 5v with the 280 built in resistor etc? thanks

You should be able test it with a digital voltmeter? All I've done so far is found out it works, I still don't have the module mounted, I'm not 100% sure how I wan't to do it. Since it's too big for a pc bay I will probably end up making a box for it on my desk (where it sits now)

Hi ghost2501,

Yes, you should be able to check this with a voltmeter, but in case you do not have one, the GPOs are at 5V.

I am lucky enough to own a laser engraver/cutting machine I am going to mount 3 to 5 of theese in my clear window on my pc. I am even going to relaser cut the window from thicker higher quality plexi and also cut the holes for these while i am at it.

I saw these displays on military channel for abrams tanks, flir sights, turbines, and gps sattillite stuff.

I know they use them on nuclear submarines and missile silos, bad ass!!

anyway thanks again

Awesome I made a window for my rig, I used the thick plexi. I don't remember the actual thickness but its like 2 - 3 times as thick as the regular stuff.
