VFD2041-V scrambled display - belkin serial cable

Hi i have the VFD2041-V, i have just installed it, using a belkin serial cable.
Everything sent to the display is random/scrambled text, i have tried lcdc and hyperterminal, any ideas what this could be?

Hi madlan,

Thank you for posting on the forum. Can you tell me what baud rate you have selected in LCDC and Hyperterminal??
