Keypad overlay problem

Post by deadly-app »

Ok, well I just got my matrix orbital LCD, mx211 and i'm having a bit of a problem. First off I'll say this thing is amazing, but secondarily im having a problem with the keypad overlay. I read the manual and the template assigning letters to each key on the pad. Now I tried setting it so that when pressing the "Enter" key, alias "H", it would turn on/off the backlight. I know i have the event set correctly, Event: Sys->keypad press, Parameters: H, Action: Backlight->On/off.

This is all saved, but it still doesnt seem to work...am I doing something wrong or is the overlay messed? The SMD cable coming off the overlay is positioned 3 over from the floppy power connector, and 1 over from the opposite side.

Picture found @ www.comp-reviews.com/reviews/images/mx211/back.jpg

I have also tried with the F2 and F1 keys, also with their respective aliases.

I can be hit on email @ snowking03 ATTTTTT comcast.net
or on aim @ arborwoodieman

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for posting.

Make sure you have the right keys assigned.

If the connector is placed in a different location on the keypad connector, the key will change characters. You can check for the correct character in the Configure/Test section. In the test display section at the log window, you can see the character, when you press a key. Make sure you have the right key mapped, then program it in the event.

Let me know how it works out for you.

Best Regards,

:D

Ok got it all figured out after some screwing around with it.

When the SMD cable is set as i originally showed the letters corresponding to buttons are:
Enter=J
F2=P
F1=Q
Uparrow=K
Downarrow=L
Leftarrow=R
rightarrow=F

whoo, now it works :)
