What if I plug CCFL into the GPO directly

Post by Mikie »

Sorry, this more of a continuation, but I cannot post a rply to that thread.

I have just read another review that had (or mad it sound like) the CCFL's plugged into the Highpower GPO.

I really want to get rid of the inverter. :)

Thanks

CCFLs require AC power. GPOs provide DC power (same as a computer power supply does). Therefore, an inverter is always necessary to take computer power supply (or GPO) power and convert it to AC power.

It's less cumbersome (albeit less accurate) to say that the CCFL is plugged into a GPO than to say that the CCFL is plugged into an inverter which is plugged into the GPO - but the inverter's use is implied since the inverter is ALWAYS required.

Darn, that is what I had gathered, but most of the reviews say they plug it in, and there was some hope :) , a little bit anyway.

So I thought I would ask the direct question.
