i would like to connect to the internal USB header on my mobo..
could someone please give me assurance that it will work ok and which way around I need to do it... the manual shows different letters to the instructions I received

I assure you, if you connect the internal USB pins properly, your LCD will work. Make sure you have the following connections right.
USB Connector: Motherboard:
+5V USB +5V
- D USB_P-
+D USB_P+
GROUND GND
After you connect your display, you need to install the USB drivers for the device, to operate the LCD. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
