turning backlight off at PC shutdown

Post by Dgephri »

I have found the DSP- section of the Events screen, and I have configured an event Sys-At finish with the command-ClearScreen and Backlight off...but when I turn off my PC, it doesn't seem to be sending the command.

If I go to the Testing screen, I can send the command BacklightOff, and the display goes dark, but the Command from the Event screen doesn't seem to do anything.

What am I doing Wrong?

Is the event turned on (Tick/check in the box to the left of it) and what version of LCDC are you using as it works for me?

the tick box is checked and I'm using 1.05.29.

When I use the "live Preview" button on the event, it just blanks the screen, but doesn't do anything to the Backlight level.

If I go into the Configuration main screen, and Test Display, it will dim the Backlight with what appears to be the same command, just a different screen.

Event's do not do anything in live preview. Quit the screen builder, then "Start" the display from the main menu. Now hit Stop, the backlight should go off.

I have started and stopped the display, and I have opened and closed LCDC itself. I have reset my PC...none of which seem to take...

Is there any way to power off the display when the PC is off? I haven't found any BIOS settings that indicate how to turn off USB standby power either.

I just don't like having the MO sit there with nothing happening while my PC is off. :(

TY for the help, just trying to figure it out.

The screens don't have a power off function as such. Just turning off the backlight and clearing the screen is as good as you can get... If when you switch off you are still getting power to the USB, then I would think it's a bios option or something.

yeah, it just doesn't seem to take commands from the Event list at shutdown. My "at startup" seems to work fine, clear, backlight, etc.

I will just have learn more, fiddle more, etc.

I can see it clearscreen "at Finish" but it doesn't do anything to the backlight.

I'll keep at it. Thanks for the pointers. :)

You should have an event "Sys->On finish" with the Action "DSP->Backlight state" "Off", works for me :)

ah, I had been trying the same thing only with "Backlightoff" not "Backlightstate Off." I will try that change tonight, thank you.

I was trying to use the lower command line to do it, not the DSP-Backlightstate selection.

Got it, thanks.
