However the MX series does not support this. If you try this with an MX display your devices may behave strangely or even not work at all.

Most of the suggestions also apply to people asking about how long their 1-wire cables can be.

Dallas has informed that 1-wire cable can be up to 200 meters. I have tested with 50 meter cable and with 5 probes and it worked fine. (Dallas DS18S20 to USB, not to MX2).
With proper termination and controlling the rise and fall times of the signal, according to some their docs a network could go over a kilometer. However you need a proper driving circuit tuned to your network. The MX was designed for monitoring temperatures inside a computer case, so we saw no need to include the extra driving circuitry. The same goes with bus powerd connections (no need for VCC connections). We figured running 3 conductors instead of two would never be a problem.
