BVK202A-4BR USB is not recognized in windows

I have been pulling my hair out for the past couple of days attempting to get this display to work, but I cannot even get to the first step of having the display recognized by windows.

I received this display in a trade with someone who had no idea how to use the display and could never get it to work either. The display is plugged into a 4-pin molex power plug and plugged into the motherboard USB header on my Abit IS7-G. When the computer is turned on, I get an identification screen on the VFD stating it is a BVK202A-4BR. In windows, the display is not recognized upon a fresh install and the LCD testing program in the downloads section of the MO site does not recognize it either.

Since there is power to the unit and Windows doesn not even see the unit, I am suspecting there is something wrong with the USB cable that was included in the kit i received. Can someone shed some light on how to get this display recognized and if I am even using the right USB connecting cable (I noticed that it doesnt look like the internal USB cable shown on the MO accessory page).

Hello...

The unit you have received is part number BVK202A-4BR, it is not a USB device. Windows will not detect new hardware when powered up!!! To communicate with the device you must access it via a serial port, usually com port 1 or com port 2. You may use hyperterminal to do some preliminary tests to make sure the device is operational, assuming you set up hyperterminal correctly. Under the configure section, set to 19200, 8N1 with flow control to none.

In order to properly connect the VFD to my PC, would these be the correct accessories to get?
