MX212 Keypad troubles

Post by masasaarnela »

MX212

I have serious problem with Keypad input, only half of them seems to working.

Keypad input (LCDC Configuration) shows that only keys P, Q R and F
respond, all other keys (K, L and J) have no impact.

Do I have a faulty unit or what?

Please let me know asap.

Please ensure that the keypad is properly connected to the keypad connector on the PCB.

Yes it is. I have tried different pins just in case. Everything works, but those three buttons dont. They dont send any information to anywhere. Different pins just send different ASCII codes and that

In section 3 of the manual a description on how the keypad works and the orientation of the pins are given. With a piece of wire can you short each column and row respectively. The values that are returned should be exactly that of Table 6. By doing this, it will ensure that the display is working fine and the keypad overlay maybe faulty. Let me know how you make out!

Just tested all. It seems that pin 8 (Manual 3.2 Connections, row 2) is dead. RIP. Nothing comes through from that pin. Everything else works ok.
