MX2 (212) USB, ONLY ONE LINE WORKS :/

Post by Wolverine »

Hi there,

Switched on my computer today and only the top line of my lcd works, it all lights up and functions though. I tried it in another pc and same, also removed fans/led's which are attached and no different.

P.S. when the unit powers up you can see only the top blocks appear, the bottom ones are just gone.

Any ideas? :/

Hello...

In your device manager, what does the unit come up as?

I'm currently using on another machine now, to test.. and it's showing up as "matrix orbital mx2/mx3 usb driver".

Same thing happens on this PC, even without any LCD software (just driver).

Sorry also missed another instance in the COM ports, same name but specifies that it's on COM4. I notice when i disconnect and plug in, the bottom line kind of flickers on for a split second and then goes out... could it be trying to act as a one line display for some reason or is it faulty?

Hmm something tells me this thing has started to convince itself that it's a 1-liner, why would the second line just die on it's own?

I've been trying the manual override too but no luck.

I've contacted the company i bought it from and it's been RMA'ed to them now. I just posted here to see if the problem were something silly which could be fixed from anyones experience, or if it really was faulty.

Will soon see either way.
