Cold cathodes and Fans

Post by chrisshaw »

Further to my previous post about the pins i would just like to ask if i need to do anything to connect a fan or cathode to the MO display besides enabling the 12v on the GPO's?

Do i need to add some diodes to the fan connection or has this changed with the latest version - if so what should i be looking to buy from maplins.

Cheers - Chris

To connect cold cathods please see the following link for instructions...

To run the high output fans you will need to apply an unmodified power cable to the white connector to generate the 12 Volts needed. The appropriate measures have been taken on rev 1.4 to run the fans!!

I think you need to add some graphical images to show where and what to do. I must be stupid but i can anyone else understand those instructions?

I have 6 cold cathodes running off 3 inverters and an MX2, will it handle them all?. Can you supply images of the connections and cold cathode converters etc.

The codes you typed in your tutorial ([##254][##196][##10]), what do they mean? I'm a newbie but i'm eager to learn! oh and what does PWM mean i've searched everywhere to find out?

sorry about all the questions

Thanks
