Installation problems

Post by Bistro »

Is there any definitve step-by-step guide to installation of the GX? I have loaded Studio 2.1 and what I believe is the right DriverCore software, but I'm still stuck on the GX logo and the device doesn't show up in the LCD Defaults Configuration. I'm using Vista 64-bit.

EDIT: OK...I finally found this thread. I'll try those steps. No flame here, but this is kind of frustrating for us new guys to have to hunt around for clues on how to operate this thing...

I'll add you to the beta group, newer software and actually a step by step installation guide.

Thanks Ray. I have tried to install the Drivercore and LCD Studio, but I am getting errors on both installations. The Lcd Defaults Configuration Uitlity stil does not show the GX. Is there a big compatibility problem with Vista 64-bit? If I can get past these installation errors, how do I access the beta group material?
I also need to know how to UNinstall the Drivercore and try to start over again.

EDIT: Ok, nm....I found the Beta group, but this MUST have a Vista compatibility problem...getting "Vista update failed" lines all over the place. Is the GX noncompatible with Vista 64-bit??? If so, I will be returning it. Somebody please inform.

The rev1.x software has 64 bit issues, the beta's you have access to should work fine on vista64. please folowow up with me on email and we'll get your GX working smoothly!

Hey Bistro, any luck yet? I'm running Vista 32 bit, all the drivers and software install fine... just no reaction on the display. LCD Studio can't find it, only shows up in device manager under Add legacy hardware when I manually install it...and it's identified under four different possible ids.?? At my wits end.. .What I can't seem to get anyone to understand is that Windows does not see it or try to install at all. How can a software upgrade help if there's no hardware?.. I think I've worn out my welcome as far as any customer support goes, so just hoping for help from anyone. :(

Thanks
