What is IFER ?

Post by firehorse »

Hi,
I have emailed LCDC about this question, no reply still

I thought I'd ask here as I'm using the MO vfd and it may have some relation to the error

In LCDC the network traffic shows " IFER "

everything else like i.p and username work but not any net traffic up or down or totals

I read some posts about IFER but no answer was given but someone said something about " IFER is an interface error as the interface number is illegal "

What is this " interface number " ?

Is it possible the MO unit cannot read the lan hardware ?

Or is it strictly a software issue

cheers
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

This may be a software issue. Reading the forums on LCDC's site it seems that way.
But if you could give me some info as to what plugins and how your screens are set up I could try to replicate here to see if there is in fact a solution.

Thanks
Martino

Hi Martino

Using Windows 7 64

Plugins aren't installed yet but do work as I have tested this before

In LCDC I go to Screen builder > choose screen > select lines > select variables

then I choose 'system' > network > currently > uploading or dwnloading

message at top of popup window says ="IFER"

also CIP - card IP adress is also showing "IFER"

no other issues

Hi Adrian,

This is a software issue.

I've tried allowing LCDC through my firewall and this still did not fix the issue.

I will continue to look at this, time permitting.

If you come to a solution please feel free to post it here.

I will do the same if I find one myself.

Thank you

so far no cigar

Will this error cause damage to a motherboard

I'd like to use LCDC still but without the network info

Hi Adrian,

So far I haven't found a solution to this issue no.

Also this should not cause any damage to your motherboard.

Thanks for posting on our forums.
In the mean time if you do find a solution please feel free to share it here.

Hey Adrian,

All Network Info is doing is reading data from a specific location. Which is the reason you are getting the IFER error as well because the data is not in the location the software is looking for.

It wont damage your motherboard because it is only reading data.

Here is a link to the LCDC forums that may help you with the error as well:
