max Amp/Volts per GPO MX6

Post by G78 »

Ok, i just want to know, would it be wise to plug 4 120mm panaflo fan on 1 GPO on the MX6. Or maybe i should plug only 2 per GPO?

Panaflo 120mm specs--> http://www.frozencpu.com/fan-157.html

If i can plug two or more per GPO, i would be able to add the Thermaltake Giant 3 blower on one GPO and maybe the CPU fan also if the device seem stable and secure enaught.

Since the q-fan utility on my mobo aint doing the job properly. And That my zephyrus just bugs and stay stuck at the last value he received. (VL system driver are crap.)

The Q-fan utility can just lower the fan speed to 10/15 on my mobo, and does'nt go fullspeed when it should do.
The tornado fan i have could run at 25% when CPU is idle making almost no noise. But q-fan only lowers it to 3800 RPM instead of 2200RPM.

Thermaltake Giant III Blower specs--> http://www.thermaltake.com/coolers/chipset/a1919.htm

CPU fan Tornado 92mm--> http://www.frozencpu.com/fan-34.html

Anyway, any suggestions is welcome.

Hi G78,

It looks asthough you will be over the limit on how many fans should go into a GPO. Each of those fans draw 12V 510mA. Each GPO can source a maximum of 12V 1000mA. If you try to draw more power than the maximum specificationsl, you can risk damaging the GPO. You can try either plugging only one fan into the gpo,or use a lower power fan.

If you have anymore questions or concerns, please feel free to post them.

Oh ok.. thanks Tom.

Guess ill stick with only the blower and the cpu fan for this one.. Still need a better solution for the 4 panaflo fan tho. Any plan to sell only a GPO controller withought the lcd screen one day? :P
