need recommendation: linux compatible 4x20 display

Hello, As the subject indicates I need a display that does 4 lines by 20 characters for a custom linux router I'm building. In your experiences what would be the best choice to use with linux.

Hello Speedingredline,

Thank you for posting on our forums. The OS will make no difference to the unit used. Because you are using this in a router application I would suggest the LK204-25-V (if you need the ability to use a keypad) or the LCD2041-V (with out keypad option). Both these units have 5 different color choices.

You will be able to find some disscussion on Linux in our software heading in the forums.. This may be benificial to you as well.

Thanks for the suggestions I think I am going to purchase model LK204-24-USB-IY. As I dont have a serial port. I hope it works out. Thanks again

Actually I'm not sure again. I want to be able to display information such as, cpu info, memory info, uptime, disk usage, and network information. And I as stated in my last post has to be usb, as I dont have a serial port on the machine to be used. So are the models still the same or is a different model better suited for the job.

The LK204-24-USB-IY wouldd work fine. If you search our software section you will be able to find information on Linux drivers.

If I using the lcdproc in linux. What kind of keypad can I choice ?

You can use any standard Matrix Style keypad, now the rest will be your prefererence. You must make sure the keypad doesn't exceed 4x6 because 24 keys is the maximum amount of keys the LK204-24-USB can handle.
