LK204-25 12v -> 5v

Post by DieCastBlue »

Hi all, I brought an LK204-25 along time ago, its been doing various things in various computers. But now it has a place to live, in my (half made) HTPC, problem is it's a 7v - 15v version (normally plug it into PC 12v), but I want to run it off the 5v Standby voltage, so it can display things while the pc is off/booting/shutingdown etc. How do i mod this to use 5v (i would like to if possible still be able to use 7-15v again in the future, but if not possible i prefer 5v only)

Thanks for ur help

Hi DieCastBlue,

Thank you for posting on the forum.

You will be able to convert the unit back to a 5V unit. I have attached a picture to illustrate what you should do to convert the unit. You should keep the components you removed, so you can convert the unit back in the future.

If you have anymore questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Best Regards, :D

Hello DieCastBlue, thank you for posting. Please note, if you decide to make the changes, as mentioned by Tom, it will void your warrenty. I realize your unit purchase is dated back.....but I thought I should make you aware of this before you make the decision to convert voltages.

Regards,
Bernadine
