MX 212 Fan Controllers

Post by TerryK »

I installed my MX 212 and have it connected with the internal usb cabe and an unmodified floppy connector. It seems to be working and communicating properly, although I have to get it set up, which will take some time. For right now, though, I have a question about the GPO's. In the manual it states that a jumper (#2) must be removed in order to use external (floppy) power. It also appears that this jumper is soldered. Is this correct--do I have to remove this soldered jumper in order to use external power?

Well, everything is working OK, so I guess I don't need to do anything. :)

Hi TerryK,

Glad it worked out for you. You do not need to do any modifications to your board for external power. The reason for desoldering the jumper is for safety reasons, but there is a fuse added for safety.

If you have anymore questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Best Regards,
:D
