Temp probes

Hi, I just recently purchased an MX-212 and am looking forward to setting it up. Just one question regarding the temp probes: is it best to leave the black shrink wrap on the tip of the probe and how much does this affect the reading? Thanks.

Thank you for posting at the forum.

It won't affect the reading if you took the heat shrink off. There will be wires coming from the head that has heat shrink on them too. I suggest not taking it off, so you don't expose the wire. I just want to make sure they don't accidently short out.
