-USB Firmware Update
The following models have a new firmware update LK202-24-USB v2.1 LK204-24-USB v1.1 VK202-24-USB v1.2 VK204-24-USB v1.2 The big new feature is a new command to set PWM base frequency and startup PWM base frequency. This is a nice feature for people that want to use the advanced GPOs for lighting suc...

What you need is a simple RTL inverter: http://www.lcdforums.com/forums/images/RTLinverter.jpg The 15K resistor is optional. All it does is limit the current through the base, which the 240 Ohm resistor on the display will do anyways. The only other reason you would want it is to cut down on power c...

The LEDs would work, but they wouldn't be as bright. Since the power is supplied directly from the microprocessor, the limit is 20mA of current. Any more than this an you blow the output on the processor, if not the processor itself. If you want to drive the LED with those outputs, you will need to ...

The reccomendation to check no more than ever two seconds is just for that reason. Any more can cause the fans to pulse but moreso, it will cause the fans to speed up. We're working ways to improve this, but like I said, PWM and RPM sensing at the same time is difficult. I actually don't know of any...

We've actually been thinking about this for digital knobs and other input devices. The keypad is 4x6, I will call the part that is 4 wide the rows and the one that is 6 wide the columns. It doesn't matter which is which, as long as you keep them straight. Let's start off in the idle state. The rows ...

Ok lets start at the top: Ok thanks (most likely, my harddisk will make more noise then )! Do some makes of fans perform better than others (e.g. the Vantec silent - accoring to the other thread don't seem to like PWM that much) ? And if so, is there a list of some kind ? Does the PWM use equal on/o...

The power cable can be pretty much any length you want. On the VK204-24-USB models are able to be supplied from a different power source than your computer, eg an external power supply (Other LK/VK20x-24-USB models can do this, but require a simple modification so they don't damage the power supplie...

It's strange that you found the larger ones made more noise, I found the opposite. Anyway there is no cap in there. We didn't add a large filtering cap for two reasons: 1) We ran out of space 2) The aditional cost was too prohibitive By adding somthing large (about 100uF) across the +12/Gnd of the f...
