Can you test it out with uproject? It is in the ecd that comes with your mx2. Do test the following test.

1) Turn on and off the backlight.
2) Adjust the contrast.
3) Send some text.

You can set the limits for the temperature probe. I set mine up so that if the temperature of the probe reads >30 then my fan turns on. My setting are shown below Under event it shows Sys->Advanced->On D1W Temperature "Gt or Er" It was set to the probe id and the temperature setting was 30...

I have a temperature probe hooked up to mine and the Fan comes on when the temperature>30 degrees. What are you trying to do with your GPO?

Can you try to communicate with the power on and the jumper left on. Then communicate at 19200?

You have it right in your picture. When I meant the board facing you, I meant the back of the LCD, and the screen is facing away from you. :)

When the board is facing you, the USB port should be on the right hand corner. The GPO's and the temperature probe inputs should be on the left side. Hope this helps you out. :)

The default setting for the fan PWM is 100% at startup. The posting below will give you an idea on how to set the fan at 50%.

Unfortunately none of our displays will power up at 3.3V. They are all powered by 5V.

You are correct, the MX5 needs an unmodified floppy power cable along with the USB cable to power it up.
