Sending "[##254, 54]" [Sent] Keypad input-> Dec:32 Hex:20 Chr: There's the problem. According to this you have firmware revision 2.0. Revision 2.1 is when I introducted the ability to change PWM frequency. One option is that we can upgrade that for you at no cost. Just cover the shipping ...

Sorry for the tall order. If you have any soldering skills it would be easy to construct a cable yourself. Grab one of those extension cables, along with whatever plug you need to fit into your rheobus. Then chop the extension cable in half EXCEPT for the yellow wire. You have three plugs with bare ...

Miles is out of the office until next monday (June 28th). If you can hold off until then, contact myero@matrixorbital.ca for repair/RMA options, he'll get back to you on monday.

The MX series will do this no problem, with one catch. Your RPM pass-through cable only passes the RPM wire. It should work, but there is a chance that you could get some noise on that line without a good ground connection. If you can, get a cable that does both RPM and ground to a 3 pin connector. ...

Considering I desinged the unit, I think the buck stops here. :D

The manual is being updated. The problem is that we have old (incorrect) and new manuals floating around. We're looking to solve that ASAP and get this all cleared up.

Assuming that you are writing your own software to monitor this, I do have some suggestions: If you are using the PWM output on the plug that you are using the RPM sensing on, then only check the RPM about every 2-3 seconds. If you can, avoid using the PWM output on that particular plug. If you don'...

Well in theory, the RPM sensing should work upto 312500Hz :) In practice the error would be too much up in that range to work (+/- 50%). But down in the range you're talking about, the RPM sensing should be fine. In the range of 1500Hz (90,000RPM) the error would be about 8Hz.

Just thought I should jump in here. Don't remove that resistor indicated by Johnny. Just to clarify what those two resistors are for: 1) Allows the unit to be powered from the 5V line from the unmodified floppy connector 2) Allows the unit to be powered by the USB line Removing #1 will prevent the u...

Ouch. Well that is a polarized capacitor. They really don't like having the wrong voltage on them. But other things could be dead too (just not showing it). You had better contact Miles at myero@matrixorbital.ca for RMA options. Unfortunately he's feeling a little under the weather and is not in the...

Very normal. It won't grow. It's actually left from the VFD manufacturing process. Every VFD we get has them. So don't worry about it :D
