Yup, I noticed my Blue/White was reporting RGB. No problem, though. :)

...but how did you come to 35? From LibDriverCoreClient, the DCCSession.Device.ContrastSteps property reports an int of 35. The LCD Defaults Configuration Utility just has a slider, but doesn't report actual value. Backlight steps are reported as 255, as they should be, so I trusted this value. I c...

To head off the next question. Yes, the backlight also has 255 levels of brightness. For each colour. Independently. Unless it's the blue & white, inverted display. ;) The page does mention "software controlled", so you guys might want to change that until software is able to control ...

Correction needed on the GX page

On your web site, you list the GX typhoon as having "255 levels of software controlled contrast" on this page: http://www.matrixorbital.com/gx.php. I assume you meant levels of backlight control instead, since there are only 35 steps of contrast.

P.R. rewrite: As soon as 8 weeks! Engineering will only release the design after it has been refined. We only release quality projects, so this may require an additional 2 weeks.

Thanks, James. May be some simple boolean for this that can be toggled by the LCD Defaults configuration utility would be worthwhile? I'd hate to see us get locked out of a feature we currently have (even though it's more like a bug/oversight). Of course the best implementation for users would be ac...

2. I haven't tried it yet, and this is more of a question for Ray: when I change the backlight through the DriverCore, then end the session and connection and shut down my PC, will the unit retain its backlight value until I change it again? I was able to answer my own question while testing it. Th...

If worse comes to worse and that isn't made as an available option, at least we'll be able to use our choice of firmware versions, correct?

Is there any way to get the DriverCore to display a bitmap other than the "Display is idle..." message? I can't find a method or property for it, so I assume it doesn't exist (yet?). When powering down a PC, as we all know, the device is still active and stuck on the last frame generated b...

I use Fedora Core with MythTV for my PVR, but I am making another one as a Christmas gift for family. I will use ubuntu and MythTV, so if guys get Linux support, you can count me in as a repeat customer in that market. :)

Thanks, Clare.

Wow! :jawdrop:

Leaving one of these units on 24/7 for 10 years still wouldn't reach 100,000 hours. By that time, your newest LCDs will be at monitor resolutions, but small enough to fit in a 5.25" bay, lol.

Awesome. I think I'll leave mine on then, with some sort of bitmap that mentions the PC's security system is active. ;) The PC will be at my workplace, so I do have to use locking screws and lock it down to the wall for peace of mind. We have many interns in and out of my area when I'm not around. S...

I am nearing the end of my mod that includes the GX, and I have it connected to an internal USB header. Therefore I will be unable to power off the unit when my PC will shut down (I've seen it remain powered while testing). It's not a huge problem, and it actually adds for some interesting options i...
