When I power it up with no serial input the display is very feint, but perhaps more significantly the contrast seems to vary across the display. Nothing changes if i then plug in the serial lead.

Currently, the latest version does not work correctly with Winamp 3. I use Winamp 2 and version 5(I think) of the software. Markus knows about this problem and is working on it.
