Got it working now, I think my USB Serial adapter may have a null modem built in.

I seem to be powering the device OK, but I'm completely unable to drive it from mogd.

It cannot automatically detect the device (unless I press a button, then it suggests rubbish).

I've set COM5 (my "prolific" USB serial adapter).
