Hmm, I think it's sorted now, it appears to have been a BIOS issue that was causing the display to not boot up correctly every time.
For some reason when I replaced the winusbsharp file that I found a link to earlier in the year it seemed to work, may have just been a coincidence...

A while back I managed to get a beta driver (winusbcoinstaller.dll or winusbsharp.dll i think) that was linked in an open access thread. However I forgot to back this file up before installing win7 and can't find the link again.
