Additionally, the MX6 does the same thing when it is set to auto, temperature based (digibus). The fans spin down to about 70% (good) and then the display goes black (bad), fans spin back up to ...

I am having this same problem. This makes the MX6 utterly useless to me, as a fan contoller that is. That was the major reason to have an MX6 to begin with. A solution would be much appreciated.
