Well I hooked up three units directly to the mobo (skipped the hub), reset the ports, reloaded the drivers. Let them run for an hour and they didn't shut down or turn the backlight off. However, I get garbled characters on one of the displays fairly often, and sometimes the events I program in LCDC ...

Hi Tom. I meant to say it was plugged into the hi power gpo number 4 (not 7). I have used several of these units, and this one particular several different fans into the fan headers. gpo 3, directly above this one had an identical fan (less than 4 watts). Specifically I wondered if the unit has some ...

Display flashing with fan plugged in
Hi. I have an Mx414 and when I plugged a 3.84w Delta 60mm fan into gpo 7 (hi power), the display started flashing on and off, and the fan rpm was erratic.
I had the same fans plugged into 5 and 6, no problem. Yes I do have the unmodified floppy power cable plugged in.
From other posts it seems ...

The internal cable definitely generated more errors. Probably closer to interference generating electronics that the outside routed cable. I use an open box tower Lubic case, so I just route the cables anywhere I want.
Dont think its a cable issue however. I have the unit grounded to the PSU ground ...

Well still having a few problems. I have no less than four different MO displays (mx414, 411, 412, 212)I have tried on two ASUS motherboards. (I use all Delta fans, great quality, and no other lighting, like CCFl).

Thank you for your efforts. I will await your reply. In the meantime I am going to remove the unit from the pc and try to set it up somewhere away from it. Perhaps there is some coincidental anomoly that affects the USB connection, when the unit is in proximity. and the LCDC software is running. I ...
