Just so you are aware, on the back of the display, their is a LK204-25 a VK204-25 and PK205-25. None of the boxes are checked.

On the actual box that it came in, the label says LK 204-25.

I do not see a crystal, I do see pads directly above the 4 sided pinned "ATMEGA" chip. Is that where the crystal would be located?

The serial # for one of the 2 new displays is 06m06-2016. I've tried both new v2.0 displays and neither work.

I'm not sure if their is a crystal....I'll check and reply if the serial # is no good for you.

Ok, I've got the displays to work through the RS232, however with our micro's, we communicate with the I2C port. This may have taken a hit?

No I am not able to communicate.....it stays at the Matrix Orbital Screen. Could the RS232 chip taken a hit or the programming for the display?

No this happens after I remove power and then after that it never gets past the boot screen again.

We've got over 4 dozen of the LK204-25 Matrix Orbital Displays that we are using with a micro (hooked up with the I2C) and a keypad. We have 10k ohm 1/4watt pull-up resistors on SCL and SDA.

Yes it is.

I also have a ground wire attached to the screw that mounts the display to the enclosure.
