Here's a neat little project I whipped up with the help of my dad (an a little by my friend Alex). It's a Seti@Home cruncher (plan to keep on 24/7) with a 600MHz Celeron, 250 Watt PSU, 3GB HD, and 384MB of memory. Props to my friend Alex for letting me use the mobo, proc, hd, and psu. The LCD is par...

Actually, I've seen people just flip the polarizing film that they removed to get an inversed LCD. It wasn't very nice or elegant, but it got the job done  Also, the LCD becomes washed out and isn't as nice as buying new polarizing film (from what I've seen)

However, the color is not blue at all. It looks blue as the camera had to "fake" the colors a bit.. I made the picture without sunlight. What is the actual color? It looks like a REALLY nice blue (goes well with the brished aluminum), but is is a greenish color? Are using any kind of filt...

Actually, the LK204-25PC has 8 high power outputs (didn't see that before), so it would work exactly for what you want. I was just proposing an alternate solution but the LK204-25PC should work out fine for you (I'm actually wiring up the parallel port to control fans on a little computer me and a f...

If you have a free parallel port, you can easily wire it up to control the fans and lighting with transistors. All of the LCD display routines and control would have to be done via a computer program though. If you ware still interested in that method (via a parallel port), tell me  -special [k]

First of all, try mogd.exe (available in the downloads section of http://www.matrix-orbital.com) and see if you can communicate with it. If you can display text, draw pictures, etc., please tell us! I'm actually working on programs specific to the graphic LCD, so any new and unique programs I happen...

I'll try and make a nice graphic LCD program for Seti@Home and put it up in a day or two. I'm working on making a celeron system to crunch seti data etc and need to make a LCD display to show progress (no monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc, just a number cruncher). Unfortunatly, however, I'm under a bit ...

From the LCD datasheets:
SCL-I2C clock
SDA-I2C data
The rst and cont are undocumented (just says "do not use") and I'd love to know what they are for too... Henry, what are you hiding?

It will not directly control the LCD, but a keypad can send commands to software, which can, in turn, control the LCD to turn the backlight on/off, clear the display, show information, etc.

What LCD are you using? I've had that problem with my graphical and some text programs (specifically LCDcenter).

With the GLK12232-25-WBL I am working with, when I poll for the module type (254 & 55), the LCD is returning 0x08 instead of the 0x22 I expected... In the GLK12232-25 manuel, it says that the code for it should be "GLK12232-25 - 0x22", not the "LK202-25 - 0x08" that I am reci...

I know it may seem corny, but I *just* figured out how to upload bitmaps... this will make programs *much* easier to work with (know how with my winamp program you had to upload each file? no more!)   -speci...

Nice
I like how it is in the 3.5" bays instead of the 5.25" bays... I know that I would rather use those bays for an LCD than the 5.25" bays anyday. Looks great!
