not sure I had ever seen anybody try this, but I want to desolder the LCD on my MX6 series from the control board.
The reason is that I want a very thin installation for the LCD, and will run leads back to the controller board to be located nearby.
Would something like 10 inches 26ga wire be ...

nope, when I tried the Mini 5pin, it worked just perfectly, and using a leftover cable and crimping the motherboard end was a lot easier to test than soldering the 4pins onto the MO unit.
However, the solder points look empty, so putting a pin in there should be easy unless it could short anything ...

Henry, could we get a collection going of 'Known' and 'high priority' related issues and fixes that MO is already working on?
I would say the IR/MCE issue that alentsa was asking about would be near the top of my interest list as I intend to install Vista Premium and use the MCE features, but in XP ...
