Does the GLK12232-25 have a memory chip lockdown feature?

Hi,

I saw that the GLC24064 LCD has a memory chip lock down feature. I was wondering if the GLK12232-25 LCD has a similar feature?

This is what I saw in the GLC24064 manual:

1.6 Memory Chip Lock Down

The GLC24064 uses a memory chip to store speed, startup screen contrast, fonts, bitmaps and I

Are you sure 154 is a command for the GLK12232?

Hi,

I tried out that 254, 154, intensity command on my LCD. It doesn't appear to do anything. The intensity value gets treated as a character and gets shown on the LCD. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

But both of you gave me the same command: 254 153 [brightness]. What are the two different commands?

Thanks.

two seperate commands?

Hi,

I was just wondering if there were two seperate commands. One command to set the brightness without saving and one command to set the brightness with saving (this thought is based on the contrast setting having two commands). The same command was listed in the previous two posts. There seem to ...

A way to set and save the brightness of the backlight?

Hi,

Thanks for the information on setting the backlight intensity. That command looks like it sets the brightness of the backlight, but does not save the brightness for the next time the LCD is turned on. Is there a way to save the backlight intensity for the next time you turn on the LCD?

Thanks.

A way to adjust the backligh brightness of a GLK12232-25 LCD

Hi,

Recently when some random characters were sent to my GLK12232-25 LCD, the backlight intensity or brightness appeared to lower. I was wondering if it is possible to change the backlight brightness witha command? If not, has anyone seen this happen before?

I can tell the backlight is still ...

Setting the empty and full markers that get returned

Hi,

I was wondering if there is any way to set what characters get returned for full/empty flow control in the GLK12232-25 LCD? The default values are 0xFE and 0xFF, but I was wondering if I could set them to something different?

Thanks.

time for LCD to respond with a buffer full byte

Hi,

When the LCD is in flow control mode and it realizes that it's buffer is full, how long does it take it before it sends out the buffer is full byte?

I have done some of my own experimentation and it appears to take about 50ms from when the LCD has received enough bytes to make it full to when ...

soft reset, even if the buffer did overflow?

Hi,

I am experiencing the same problem from time to time. For the most part I have put in safe guards to ensure the buffer will never overflow. However, it is hard to know if I have tried and tested every possible case. For our products it would be unacceptable for the LCD to ever become ...

Flow control mode / buffer

However, the flow control mode is unavailable when using I2C.

I was wondering if anyone knew about how long it takes for the LCD to handle one byte in it's buffer? Or is that dependent on the type of instruction being sent?

Hi,

I just wanted to confirm that there is no way to know how full the buffer is in both RS-232 and I2C modes, correct?

Thanks.

Hi,

I noticed I did not answer your question of whether I needed to upload bitmaps in the manner that I discussed.

If there was an executable that I could use to upload the bitmaps from the command line I could use that, otherwise, I need to be able to upload a bitmap myself or write my own ...

Buffer overflow or maximum turnaround time to receive char

Hi,

I have noticed that the LCD I am working with ( GLK12232-25-SM ) can only be updated with new characters only so fast or it will error, showing the wrong character, on the wrong line or possibly even interpret the characters I've sent as a command (sometimes changing the baud rate, requiring a ...
