LK202-25-USB troubles

I have a LK202-25-USB attached to a pfsense (v2.5.2) box. i don't appear to have any /dev/cuaUX devices being created that i can use to communicate with the device. i know that this is probably more of a pfsense/freebsd problem than it is a MO device problem. might there be someone around in here that has some experience getting these usb type devices working on pfsense or freebsd?
