LK204-7T-1U USB VID and PID values

Hi, another question just popped up today. When I was configuring the latest display I've received, I found that the code I normally use to auto-detect the serial port to use for USB communication with the LCD isn't working any longer. I have done this in the past by using the VID and PID values to detect that I'm looking at a Matrix Orbital display. (Normally I've seen VID and PID values of 1B3D and 012C, respectively).
In the latest LCD I have here, it appears that the default value from FTDI is used (0403 and 6001). I'd normally just add this to the list to check for displays, but I recognized those numbers as some I'd seen on several standard USB-Serial converters, so I don't think it would be a very good idea to use them in this way.
Is there a utility by chance that can set this to the normal value? Is it just a fluke that these values are used or are you going to not set these things going forward?
Thanks for the help.
