Win2K and LK202-24-USB: resuming from stand-by

Post by Russ B »

Anyone else experiencing LCDC crashing when resuming from stand-by in Win2K?

I'm using a LK202-24-USB.

I have a feeling it's the driver, not LCDC... but can anyone confirm this?

I use stand-by quite a lot and obviously this is a bit inconvenient!

I have not. Henry or Miles might have come across it. Henry is in Europe, though...

I don't use suspend mode... I'll ask Mat-d-Rat to take a look and test. And yes, I'm writing this from a cber cafe in London <:)

Looks like a generic NT problem...

Hope this gets fixed... :(

I can at least speak to the "LCD will not turnoff itself when going into suspend" issue. This is absolutely true (until next week), but I hope that it will not cause too much concern. Power should not be an issue (maybe 1/2 Watt or so).

New MX units will power down, but this is really a minor "improvement".

I have one unit at home and my solution was to create an event in LCDC, on shutdown turn the backlight off, and on startup turn the backlight on again.

I also have events to capture exiting LCDC: switching the backlight off; and on when starting LCDC.

This, however, doesn't address the suspend/resume catastrophic crash! Once the driver/LCDC has crashed in NT, that's it... a reboot is necessary to start the display comms again.

May post this topic on the LCDC board too; maybe Matt can comment there...

So, what's the deal with this issue? Are you guys working on a fix or have you dropped the ball? This standby issue is extremely annoying and has made my MX2 worthless.

I've done some work in LCDC to close the port etc. however you can actually do a dirty standby in windows (don't ask me!) and I can't capture that event, and as of such when the system starts again - -I've tried to do some hackes to make it continue but it's not perfect... I am trying but it's not the easiest of thinges to debug!

What is the status on this issue? I still have a wasted MX2 in my computer. It is worthless to me as long as it crashes upon Standby. I need Standby more than I need the MX2. I just wish I knew that the MX2 driver is not compatible with Standby before I wasted my money buying it.

Yes, the problem with the MX2 and Standby has been resolved with 1.05.26. I have been away for the past couple of weeks and had forgotten about updating to 1.05.26. Thatks for the reminder and especially thanks for solving the problem.
